Saint Bettie's Chapel Church, named for Mrs. Bettie Session, mother of Rev. George Session, was organized in the 1800's. At the time of its organization it was called The Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Henderson.
On December 17, 1901, the land where the church is now located was purchased from Mrs. Nettie Redevine. Elders were Nat Neal and Henry Dixon. Sister Bettie Session was the oldest member, and the church was named for her.
