Rev. William Madison Scott, age 91, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Salmon, in Fairview Sunday evening at 7:00 o'clock,
Rev. Scott was born in Jackson, Mo., May 4, 1845. As a child he moved with his parents to Mississippi, where he resided until 1858, when the family moved to Arkansas. He entered the war between the states, serving in the Confederate Army in McCoy's Company A.
In 1869 he joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Rev. Scott moved to Texas in 1877 and was married to Miss Della Welch on November 20, 1878. He was ordained to the ministry in the Marshall Presbytery in 1909.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Salmon, of Marshall; one son, Rev. Sam Scott of Camden, Texas; two brothers, R. P. Scott of Dallas, and Frank Scott of Cleburne, Texas; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Rev. Scott was the last charter member of the Walter P. Lane Camp No. 412, Confederate Veterans.
The funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mr. Robert Salmon, in Fairview, Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. T. Ingram of Marshall and Rev. T. C. Stockton of Longview. Interment was made in the Greenwood cemetery.
Pallbearers were: S. R. Faulkner, B. J. Blankenship, R. L. McClaren, Authur Murph, W. B. Keasler and W. H. Hartley.

Brother Scott was born in Jackson, Mo., May 4, 1845. As a child he moved to Mississippi, where he resided until 1858, when the family moved to Arkansas. He entered the war between the states, serving in the Confederate Army in McCoy's Company A.
In 1869 he united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and he was ordained to the full work of the gospel ministry in 1909 by the Marshall Presbytery of the Texas Synod.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Robert Salmon, of Marshall, Texas; one son, Rev. Sam Scott of Camden, Texas, two brothers: R. P. Scott of Dallas, Texas, and Frank Scott of Cleburne, Texas; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
The funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Salmon, conducted by the writer of this article and Rev. T. C. Stockton of Longview, Texas. We pray God's richest blessings upon his good wife, and the other relatives and friends.
