The following
resolution was read and approved: Whereas G. E. Morris is preaching
Sanctification as a second moral change, and whereas he has been
erecting an alter and inviting christians to seek that change,
therefore, resolved, that it is the sense of this Presbytery that
such teaching is heresy in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
We therefore charge him as teaching heresy, and demand an investigation
of his teachings as an ordained preacher.
J. A.
Bozarth,

Rev. G. W. St.
Clair was appointed to prosecute the above case, and a commission
was appointed to take evidence, consisting of H. C. Hook, Thurman

The

at 10 o'clock, A.M., for the purpose of trying Bros. Scott and
Morris.
