WHITESBORO.--Dr. W. E. Graham, pastor of the local Presbyterian church, is in a critical condition at St. Vincent's sanitarium in Sherman following an automobile accident at 5 p.m. Tuesday near the underpass on highway five east of here. Dr. Graham is suffering from a fractured skull and had not regained consciousness Wednesday noon, physicians reported. He also received numerous cuts and bruises.
Dr. Graham was alone at the time of the accident. He was found by a truck driver in his car in a field near the underpass. It is thought that slippery pavement was responsible for the wreck. Indications were that the car had turned over three times, it was reported.
With Mrs. Graham, the pastor came to Whitesboro about 18 months ago from Greenville where he had served as pastor for 29 years. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary shortly after coming here.
A banquet to have been given here Thursday night for members
of the Presbyterian Mens club in Grayson and Fannin counties,
has been called off because of the serious condition of Dr. Graham.
