DENVER, COLORADO.

By R. M. Tinnon, D.D., Missionary.

The First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Denver has been making steady progress during the last year. The congregation has constantly grown in numbers, the last month marking the largest attendance the church has ever had. About sixty members have been received, 25 per cent of whom joined on confession of faith. The spiritual condition is above the average of western city churches.

The Sunday school enrollment is one hundred and thirty and the average attendance about one hundred. It is well organized and doing good work. The prayer meetings are not largely attended because the large majority of the members live from a mile to three miles from the church. The same applies to the Endeavor Society. In each of these, however, there is a very faithful band of workers.

The church has, probably, the best choir in the city, composed of twenty-four trained voices under a splendid leader. The pastor is full of hope and is doing the hardest work of his life, with the assurance that the Lord is with him and therefore victory is certain.
