It is a duty, a privilege, a pleasure to record on history's pages, the names of our belovd preachers who have passed the three-score mile-post. They deserve the honor and vastly more than this brief tribute to their lives can pay them. They have been faithful under ordinary circumstances and under the extraordinary conditions that have beset us, they failed us not.
Most of them are yet with us and we pray that they may be spared another score of years to counsel us and to help lead the way to still greater achievements for that church which teaches a pure and unalloyed whosoever-will gospel.
It is easy to see that this book affords a very precious opportunity for all the church to know all of these veterans in service.
It is to us a sacred house-party, for it is bringing these devoted servants together that we may, in a sense, come in touch with their lives and that we may receive that helpfulness that comes from their thoughts and their work.
With expressions of gratitude that will find response in a hundred thousand hearts. We print and send forth these pages in honor of Our Senior Soldiers.
